Sarah has had a fascination with all things old and historical since she was young — the older, the better. While most kids were watching cartoons, she was probably wondering what secrets were hidden in a medieval cesspit.

She went on to pursue a career in nursing, but her love for the past never quite let go. In her spare time, she could often be found wandering around crumbling ruins or peering into overgrown graveyards, usually dragging her long-suffering husband behind her like a reluctant time-travel companion.

In recent years, Sarah swapped hospital charts for parish registers and set up her own genealogy business, diving headfirst into the tangled, tea-stained world of family history. When she’s not buried in dusty records or chasing elusive ancestors through census returns, she can usually be found with her nose in a book or hunched over her PC, happily building medieval-style worlds in Minecraft — with slightly more order and far fewer plagues.
